looking for ideas/suggestions for my new daily
leaning towards a ute or wagon. probably more so a ute now for tax reasons
been looking for weeks and ive almost had enough. ive looked at vs utes, vy calais's, vy/vz wagons, vy/vz sedans as i only wanted to spend around 10 to 15 max. ive been doing msth's head in
ive now started to think about somthing new and ive got the cash to do so if i feel like it. thoughts over the last few days have been a new mazda bt 50 4x2 tray, ve ssv redline ute or ve ss thunder ute
for the money im really not sold on the ve's though, i find the interiors average at best because of all the plastic...and the bt 50's dont even have cruise control
i also do alot of k's which puts me off buying a new car
little help? :dancenana:
i want to get the ss back in the shed

what are you going to use it for?
You started at 10-15k & finished at maybe buying new....

Bt-50's are good. Cheap to run and reliable so far. Bit bouncy to ride in especially on the highway and with no weight in the back. A few hundred kilos seems to sort them out. If you go one grab bucket seats because the bench seat is horrible and useless anyway.

Maybe try a Ford Ranger, one of my friends is getting one and rates them highly against the competition. 3.2L Diesel, top of the range jobbie.

I have a 2005 cx6 Adventra on lpg. Cheap to run, comfy, climate, awd, leather... Great for lugging big stuff, tows well and comfy. 275000k on the old girl and still going great.

BT50 all the way.. My mate bought one brand new for 20 grand and although they are no frills, they are cheap to run, well finished off, go well for what they are and perfect for a daily runabout.
Handling is a bit rough though with no weight in the back but at the end of the day they are a commercial vehicle..

If the VE doesn't seem too good value for money wise as a new car prospect, what about used. Depends on what you want, but you should be able to get a very good Omega for about $20K with lowish KM's say an 08 60th, or you can get say a 2010 series one SV6 with SIDI engine under $30K. Or if want a better more comfortable interior, a Calais, say MY8.5 around $23K. I'm assuming V6 for your daily. Over in the blue camp there are some good value FG XR6's around, 2010 for $25K and even less (ex rentals).

What i meant what will it be used for is will it be used as a ute or just a commuter?
If you need or want a ute & willing to spend around 15k i'd look at a BF falcon or a VZ. Any 4x4 diesel ute will be rough to ride in and the power delivery is alot different to a regular ute and if you doing alot of daily Km's or stop start you will soon get sick of a manual T/D. I've got a new Navara D40 as my get around and i hate it in constant traffic or alot of stop start sort of stuff and they are not as comfortable to ride in.
