I wonder if Chlorophyll will be similar to Atomic

I got told the same thing too by a dealer acouple of weeks ago, for the price difference & minimal changes(only gts's get black edition wheels, they're an option on other models) I went with the current my11 model.

The new colours are on Holdens website if you checkout SV6, SS colours. Chlorophyll and Perfect Blue. Poison Ivy is gone as is Wildfire, and Atomic, I think Ignition went a while ago.

Same paint as MY12 Holden Cruze ......there is a small pic of Chlorophyll Cruze here http://www.goauto.com.au/mellor/mellor.nsf/story2/4F08AD07EDFCA532CA257903001C4508
plus two new exterior paint colours that will also become available for this month’s MY12 Commodore.
Perfect Blue - a bright solid blue based on Peter Brock’s Formula Blue - will replace Voodoo, while Chlorophyll - a metallic teal - will replace Poison Ivy for both Australian-made models.
Edit : redvxr8clubby has better idea - see previous post

Maybe the release date is to trump? HDT Special Vehicles new release, the last of the Heritage Series Retro vehicles which is release at Eastern Creek Wednesday 19th October ? ? ?
Just a thought, as it seems each time HDT have release a vehicle HSV come back with new model or variation of an existing model...
Couple that come to mind are:
1. HDT VE VK SS Group A 'Blue Meanie' (Released at Bathurst 2009)- HSV Walkinshaw E2 Supercar (Released Feb 2010)
2. HDT VE VC 30th Anniversary Retro (Released at Bathurst 2010) - HSV Walkinshaw 23rd Anniversay of the Walkinshaw (Released at International Motorshow Sydney 2010) which really looked like a quick add on to an SSV didn't it IMO ?
Food For Thought perhaps....

If there are no major mechanical changes, then IMHO, ya might as well go out & buy an ultra low mileage E2, & save yaself at least $40K...because geez, there's not that much difference is there.....between an E2 & the current models anyway.....& without any major change to the "new" model, there won't be much difference there either.
Cheers, Pickles.

A polarizer for E4 would be much more effective. Imagine being able to run 12psi tyre pressure in a 1900kg VE E4.....very cool

I found this information. (http://www.carpoint.com.au/news/2011/large-passenger/hsv/hsv-releases-20inch-forged-wheels-27159)
Does not seem to be a new series as such just new forged alloys to save 20 kilograms overall.
Standard on GTS and optional on the rest for $2,500 extra. Along with that as mentioned here the new two colours are introduced on the range.

Yep, agree that change certainly makes me want to keep my car till next year.
Certainly nothing to really see. I must say the Black Series were a more inclusive revision..

Well I have to say, it is one crucial step in the right direction, so credit to HSV for deciding to offer the wheels. Although it's far from a major update it's a welcome addition in my opinion.
Kudos HSV.

Now listen guys, I don't know anything about this new HSV "release" on 12/10, but it's surely gotta be more than a couple of new colours & a set of wheels.....likewise, any "NEW" release would wanna be better than the latest "sticker special" Black Series.
Can't wait???
Cheers, Pickles.

It is an MY12 update only, which includes new colours and wheel option, plus the usual running changes.
I'm looking forward to a new GTS arriving in a few weeks.

I agree. My car will be 5 years old and paid off when new HSV shape lands and will be time for new company car. Don't get me wrong - love the SSV. Think I'll keep it as a plaything.

The more I think about it the more I am convinced that Holden will pull a surprise and the VF will be released in 12 months time.
The USA is convinced that they are getting our VF as a MY2014 which they would release in 2013.So for USA to get them in 2013 we would have to get it in 2012.Well thats my logic anyway.
If they don't I think sales will dive significantly going into 2013 as having a 2013 model looking identical to a 2006 model would be really starting to stretch the friendship.

VF is MY14 so expect it in 3rd quarter 2013.
Pretty significant panel changes from Holden and the HSV product will move away from current (and disgusting) E2/E3 styling cues.
Will be worth the wait!
Looking forward to coming home.
HSV's sales are slowing and there is not much to stop gap between now and then, sans sticker specials.
Loving the GT in the mean time!
As I mentioned, VF will be worth the wait!

Nine years actually, from late '97 to late '06. I still think a major model revision for Holden is more like a 9 year cycle, with a significant sheet metal changes about 5 years into the cycle.
VB to VL ('78 to '88 with the VK 6 window body in early '84)
VN to VS ('88 to '97 with the VR in '93)
VT to VZ ('97 to '06 with the VY in '02)
VE from 06 with some minor sheet metal and bumper changes with VE II in 2010). The pattern has been there for the last 27 years. If VF is MY 14 (and appears in late 2013) that's only 7 years. I guess it depends on if VF is a major body change like VZ to VE or a lesser model change like VX to VY.
G4RS_GM
13-10-2011, 07:17 PM
VF will be like a VX to VY type a change....then in 2016/17 will be the next generation commodore.

The doors will be the only carry over panels.

Doors (and roof) were the only carryovers from VX to VY as well, so it's a valid comparison :)

You are correct Marco.
My point, although purposefully vague, was the relative differences between the two updates.
VK to VL was more of a change aesthetically than VX to VY, if you know what I mean. Without getting into long conversations about the specific models mentioned, can you see my point?
