Wondering what people thoughts were on upgrading a mail order tune to a custom one with either Hi Torque or Power Torque. Is it worth the dollars. Hi Torque are quoting $650 for a maf tune or $880 mafless, Power Torque about the $880 either tune.

In all fairness that would depend on how your car is going now any info??
A mail order tune is very generic and in a lot of cases doesn't take temperature differences for different states etc into consideration my belief a custom tune is always the way to go.
Is hard to explain but in a lot of cases every car is different and a generic tune which may work for one may not work as well for another being same make and model.
Custom tuning they extract everything from your car whilst still keeping driveability and conditions in mind.
My opinion is get custom dyno tune done and I am sure you will be more than happy.

go for one of those workshop tunes when you next get some work done.

unless you think your having problems with your car right now, or not performaing to its potential.

if you got a tune now, any extra mods you add later on, should cost SFA for a touch up tune.

I have a maf tune done with hurricane tri y's and 200cpi high flows, with redback dual 2 1/2. Produced 223 rwkw on shootout mode.

Who did your mail order tune?
It is better to have a mail order done by someone really good than the best effort custom tune done by an idiot! :jester:
Depends also if YOU are happy with it.

It is a chipmaster. Just only picked up 2kw with the exhaust upgrade (headers + cats), was 221 rwkw with just catback and tune. Otherwise I am happy with it.

I went from 180rwkw to 215rwkw with a mail order tune from powertorque, and dont think a custom tune would get a great deal more (especially for the $700 price difference at the time). Paid an exra $50 for fitting and a dyno run and happy as larry.

What other mods did you have? to get the 215rwkw.
