I have a VE SSV ute which has been cammed also has twin 3" stainless exhaust n headers to match. Its currently making 448rwhp just wondering if adding a Fast 102mm intake manifold n matching TB would be worth while??Cheers!

I would be looking at doing some heads first. How big of a cam are you talking?

Not sure of cam size no paper work with the ute when purchased! Just have a dyno sheet with 448rwhp on it!

What have you already done to the car? Thats a lot of RWHP for a cam and exhaust only.

Since buying it have u had it run up on a dyno and had the tune looked at?? This might find any hidden issues that a simple mechanical check wouldn't have found.

Your 448rwhp may not be that much...it's just a dyno number anyway.

What's your budget??

Dont bother with the fast manifold, nice way to waste $1500+...

Exactly what I was thinking. It would have to already have heads to pull that right?

All depends on the dyno...and how it was strapped down...and a few other factors but talking about that will just start a shit fight.

Back on topic - Really need to know a budget as there may be better options for the cash you have. Are you chasing dyno numbers? Or r u going to actually race it??

pretty much.. Should do a run at a reputable shop, find out first hand what it has then go from there.

get a budget first. or an idea of power / performance you want out of it...
post up after you have answered these questions :)

Depends on how much extra hp your after, personally if it was me i'd skip heads or the lsx manifold & go straight to a blower setup.

Did you buy the car locally? Ask old mate where the work was done. Otherewise Hi Torque are the guys to see on the Goldy - give Kent a ring and ask him for some suggestions. He'll point you in the right direction.

I would have to agree with the NOS over anything else.

Yeh purchased it in Brissy. My aim is to get close enough to the 500 mark. As for the budget well I don't really have one atm. Won't be racing just want a tough streeter

If you're not planning to race it. Then you're pretty much done as far as "tough" streeters go imo.

448rwhp = 336rwkw - seems high for a cam only car as others have said, though not beyond the realms of possibility. I have no personal experience of Fast etc intake manifolds but from seeing the results of people who've tried them on VEs I'd use your money on something else. :bawl:

I've seen figures of around 20rwkw (approx 26rwhp) quoted as typical gains on a reasonable set of heads, so even if your power reading is about right that isn't going to get you to 500rwhp. :(
