Hello Crew, hit a pot hole lastnight long story short bent 2 of my genuine sigs, rang local council they said it's Vic-Roads, rang them told them the situation and they are now sending me out a claim form. Does anyone have any pointers or info or should I beware of anything? Il have no doubt take some pics of the pot hole, I'm not interested in making a profit I just 2 unbent sigs like I had. I had these wheels is storage for over 6 months and it's the only set of rims that I've bought brand new and were immaculate, decided to put em on my daily 4 days later bang.

As long as you document it properly there is a fair chance of compensation. Hopefully you took photos of the pothole and damage at the time it happened because as soon as you rang them and told them about it I can tell ya for sure a crew would have been sent out there to fix it. Also was it signed as hazard ahead or anything like that?

Take pics for sure, but if you go back now bet they filled holes already. Don't give up, if you have to go through insurance and let them chase the council. Was beaten by rankys ss.

Not unless the pothole has been reported to Vicroads in the previous 24 hours. There was a story about it recently in the local paper (Shire of Yarra Ranges) which said that 97% of claims are rejected.

I'm thinking I'll get the same result, a guy at my work similar situation took him to 3 months to get the $$$ and was just over half the amount of what he claimed

How did you go with this in the end mate ?

I am in a similar boat now after a trip to Warrnambool last weekend.

Driving along the A1 in between Dartmoor and Heywood parts of the road had massive holes in it (not just potholes) and I landed in a few of them going 100kmph at first then some others further down the road while driving a bit slower. No signs, no reduced speed limit, nothing, and they were unavoidable, that's how big and bad they were. They reckon they had 78mm of rain on the Friday as I was driving through and it had destroyed the road. It has buggered up my steering and suspension.

VIC Roads are sending me out a claim form also. They were out on the road filling them in on the Monday as I was driving home. I told them I couldn't stop for photo's in the pouring rain but said they were aware of that section of road.

Cheers

Dartmoor/Heywood...LOVELY part of the world...some good driving down there.....except for the pot holes....mate they're EVERYWHERE.....more & more of 'em I reckon.....some say keep ya'r eyes open & avoid 'em but sometimes ya just can't......we were down the peninsula a few days ago in the Focus, & I missed a few that I saw, but I went right into one that I didn'ts see....shook the sh.t out of the car ....and me.
Cheers, Pickles.
