I'm pretty sure I've seen something along this line, but I cannot find any info on here.

My wife's car (non Commodore) is coming up to the end of the new car warranty period. I've been thinking about booking it in and getting a 3rd party checkup for any issues that should be covered under new car warrenty.

A. Is this worth it
B. If so, is RACQ worth while or is there something better

When I was working for Holden had a lot of customers who went to the Nrma for said report and they produced a list a mile long stating oil leaks and heaps of issues. They bring the car in the car isn't leaking and for most of the issues listed there was no problem. Everytime had to bring the owner in and show them the underside of their car to prove I wasn't lying. And before you say no i didnt just clean it

Funny thing is, a while back I was selling my 4wd and the buyer arranged an inspection prior to the sale. It was a Diesel and on the report they had a compression ratio percentage, not a direct reading. My father in law who has been a diesel mechanic his whole life happened to be visiting from interstate at the time and said none of the injectors had been touched etc so no way they could have done a test.

I've found this thread http://www.ls1.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=146481 which is the thread I was thinking about.

Best advice jack the car up have a look at your suspension for any leaky shock absorbers, look for any oil leaks, check your wheel bearings etc, interior check and make sure all electrical components are working how they should.
