Hey guys,

got a clicking or clunking sound coming from the right rear on my WH Caprice...
it seems to be speed dependant (quicker clunks with faster speeds) and some times its not even there.
i dont feel any feedback through the steering wheel or hesitation from taking off.
could this simply be the wheel bearing?

thanks for your help!

on the series 1 wh statesman/caprice lsd was only optional. person who had my car originally opted to not get the lsd

Start with the simple stuff first, check your wheel nuts are tight!

it could be a CV joint

to check the cv you really need to remove the axle and see if the cv binds up

I done a cv joint about a year ago, sounded like someone was holding a screwdriver in my wheel smacking as the spokes turned (clack, clack, clack).
was also speed dependent the faster i went the faster it did it.

Took it to Fluid Drive, $190 later brand new complete half shaft 40k warrenty drive away.

When I took it there he took it for a quick drive and told me what he thought it was free of charge.
