Hi,
in the next day or 2 my catch can will arrive and i just have 2 questions about the install!

1, i have seen some catch can setups with the PCV valve in the middle of the catch can and the throttle, but in the instructions it has the PCV valve before the catch can then a hose going from the catch can to the throttle! Which way is best? or doersn't it matter?

2, i am going to attach the catch can to the head on the left, there is a small wire there with a bolt in it, do i need to disconnect the battery or just undo it and bolt the catch can on top of it?

cheers

Your catch-can shouldn't be going anywhere near the throttle(body) - leave the throttle-body to rocker cover hose as it is.

The catch-can will need to pick up the PCV hose that comes to the front (from the two rear rocker cover pick-ups, through the can and into the intake manifold through the in-line rubber PSV valve (early cars), or pick up the u-shaped line that goes from the PCV valve in the valley plate and into the manifold (later cars with LS6 PCV system.

There are threads on here and on US Lxx sites with plenty of pictures - just do a search and you'll find them. You could even try some of the threads that pop up in the bottom of this page for older threads.

You won't need to disconnect the battery when you remove that earth wire, but you can if it is a concern for you - just be sure to put it back when you put the catch-can bracket on.

As Macca said, don't touch the breather on the throttle body, that only supplies fresh air into the rocker cover.

you want the dirty / oily return breather coming fro the rear of the rocker cover.

And as long as the car is not switched on you can unbolt the earth bolt no problems.

I've got some info on my website http://home.exetel.com.au/qldkev/oil_catch_can.php

thanks to all, great info
but does it matter where the Pcv valve goes? on the elite site it is before the catch can and on the site the Qldkev gave me its after the catch can?

all will be sweet when i get it

It doesn't matter as long as you have one, and it's installed in the correct direction of flow.

Instead of another thread. Just
Wondering on a ls2, instead of rubber hose it has plastic hose, and the PVC valve looks like it's electronic? What would I do with the plastic tubing? Would I just use an ls1 set up or something? Also the line from the tb to maf pipe Into the rocker cover, how can I block this off? At the moment i just have a makeshift pod filter set up until I get around to a otr and the line is just hanging there. But I don't want dust and shit to get in there so can this be blocked off?

Thanks

Forget the question bout the PCV valve, seems i have my pipe work mixed up, and the PCV valve is internal. Am still interest in the fresh air one tho please

are you going to recirc the oil or just dump it in the can or vent through a filter?
