View Full Version : Power mirrors Dead

Have done a quick search on this and came up with a couple of threads. The likely culprits are Fuse, switch or mirror motors. Both mirrors refuse to operate. I have checked the fuse and even changed it for a new one to no avail (the cruise control works as well and it is a shared fuse). I have soaked the switch with contact cleaner and still no go. Is it worth taking a punt and just buying a new switch? Is the switch the most likely culprit given that both mirrors are not working? Any advice or experiences appreciated :)

I had the same thing happen to me last month. I bought a new switch (well second hand anyway) and it is all good.

Pulled the door trim off this morning and found that the switch was no longer plugged in. I must have not clipped it in properly when I did the speakers a few months back and it has eventually let go. So in the end an easy fix. In case anyone needs one though, Just Commodore spares sell them for $22, so pretty cheap. And if you didn't already know, the VT2 is different to VX and onwards in that it has the wiring loom hanging off it :)
Cheers and once again thanks for all the helpful replies
