The money I saved by doing the tranny cooler myself I am putting towards a deep pan before I get the auto serviced and flushed.
Has anyone used any of the following and can comment on the quality.
Cheers

there is something niggling at the back of mind about the shape of those compared to normal, but i seriously have no idea (or mind is playing tricks).
btw, you should be able to service it yourself. drop the pan, new filter/gasket something like $50 from repco. flush the fluid you can pop a cooler hose at front, drain into bucket and suck/pull from new fluid till clear/clean.
Are you going to take this offroad at all Marc?

Nope, just want the extra cooling.

The B&M comes with a Filter extension kit, I'd choose it for that reason, the other 2 look to be identical and no extension...

My trans builder told me alot of these aftermarket pans hang far too low in his opinion, and would greatly increase the risk of damaging the box where ever you might normally 'bottom out' ect. The Mag Hytec appears to hold 3.3 quarts more than standard, as apposed to the other two holding an extra 3. (for reference 1 quart = 0.94L, call it 1=1 for arguments sake). Thats a decent amount more. Enough to make me worry about smashing the pan on anything and everything.
How much lower are these items in comparison to the standard pans? Anyone got pics of either of these aftermarket pans fitted?

Valid point in a Sedan, Coupe or 2wd Ute but Marc owns a Cross8 Crewman so could hang a 44 gallon drum under there ;)

The TCI and Mag both use a O-ring instead of gasket which could be a pain if you have to order spares from the states and the BM just uses a plain old gasket.
Need to confirm but I think the reason the TCI/Mag doesnt have a extension is because you have to use their filter, will confirm this tomorrow.
They both have their for's and against's, but the TCI/Mag is BLACK, and you know what they say, once you have had black there aint no going back !

Getting a quote today on the B&M from a local supplier, Holden filters/Gaskets are dirt cheap and locally available, So is Satin Black paint ;)
$295, should be here soonish.
Can be had cheaper in the USA but then the shipping brings it to close to the same price.
(bought a can of black wrinkle in Melbourne today)

I have the B&M too. Also was told they are somewhat risky and a story about someone knocking off the drain plug in the middle of nowhere.
Ive never had a problem and my cars somewhat a little low with some Kings SL springs. But my cat flanges usually provide some warning.
One thing ive wanted to do was to get a second drain plug bolt and send it off to mainlube to get a magnet put in it. If you get the chance can you see what bolt size/thread etc it is so I can get one. Bit hard to take it down to specialty fastners to get another when its holding the trans fluid in.

Alway throw in some extras on a fresh Trans build as a LOT of metal escapes during the break in period.

Dont know how useful the pics will be. Good for me sort of as I didnt realise how low my car was, how dirty underneath it is, supposed to be stainless extractors, and looks like i have a weaping seal on the steering rack.
I thought most expoxies let go with heat. Pics are taken with camera sitting on the ground.

Man that's low!!
Trans doesn't get that hot (or shouldn't) Araldite "weakens" above 100c but returns to full strength when the temp drops, it only holding a magnet it's not like it's structural ;)
(if I was that concerned I think there's a pack of Devcon A here somewhere)

thanks heaps for the pic. Looks to be as dangerously low as i predicted. But my car being completely standard height i think i could pull it off with some common sense and precaution when tacking speed bumps/drive ways.
cheers again mad dog.

Car is booked in 2 weeks just before cup weekend, will log the temp going down the same freeway with the van on the back and see if the biiger pan makes much of a difference.

0 issue on the CrossTrac cars, you'll tear the Transfer case off long before you kill the pan ;)
