As I have recently decided that I will not go out and buy a new Statesman (Caprice now only) I am thinking of spending some money getting a bit omore out of my 2006 Statesman.
These are my ideas and I would appreciate any thoughts from members here on what to select. Now I do not have an endless bucket of money - my thoughts are to throw some money at this and enjoy the changes for a couple of years after which I will probably move to a new car.
Things to do:
1. Exhaust system .. larger more air flow ? nice grumbling (but not too loud sound)
2. Air Filter system .. again redo for more efficient air flow
3. Retune - program/chip job I suppose
4. DVD System ... something for the family on long trips
5. Upgraded Sound and add internal GPS system
6. New set of wheels and tyres to suit
Things to worry about:
1. Insurance - Not that I want to do anything illegal, just want to have peace of mind if something happens insurance do not turn me down on a technicality
2. Exhaust system - Selection so that internal car noise "nice" but not uncomfortable
3. Value - I do not want to be a tight arse however I do not want to be ripped off
I am in Sth East Melbourne and I think I may just simply give this all to my local mechanic to do (who obviously gets excited every time I mention this)
Please if anyone has an experience with this and can recommend some specs and estimate of price this will be much appreciated
