Hmmm, not sure about that. The bonnet scoop looks too big in the pics and the seats just don't work with the broad head rest. Like the wheels.

Whilst I didnt mind the Meanie, this just doesnt do it for me - bonnet scoop looks too big in the pics but i'd still like to see one in person

I think the scoop is over the top and poor taste but I like the rest of the car.

I was reading this part of the text (QUOTED BELOW,) and was thinking about comparing it with the KPM Streetfighter for performance legality and warranty, I reckon HDT's warranty and street legal fitting of the "optional supercharger" would make for a fantastic package.

BTW they are quoting 350kw without the supercharger.;)

"HDT has also listed a bunch of options should feel like splurging:
HDT Supercharger Package,
HDT coil over suspension package,
HDT high performance brake package,
and all new to the HDT VL VE Group A Plus Pack;
a HDT Track Pack
– we’re guessing this will cater to punters who intend on giving their HDT VL VE Group A Plus Pack a lashing on the track."

Agree with gav.

Although, probably because of the more rounded line (and colour), does look more VN Group A to me.

Can the 2 threads be merged.

It's a bit of a shame really, that they can't let come up with something new. If anything, I'd like to see an HDT or HSV with a bit less bling and a bit more class, but all the performance.

Actually I don't mind it - agree the scoop is a tad too big but like the understanded scheel style interior (perhaps not white) and the 20 inch momo inspired alloys. Shame they are 20 or I would seriously consider a set for my VK - 20's are just too big.

Its revolting.

Its NOT a Group A, and is a really bad imitation.

What happened to people with an Imagination (aside from those with heavy crack influences, ala E3...)

Does this one come with HDT's famous energy polariser too?..........or have they upgraded to a flux capacitor.

Just look at their official website. They only do RETRO! Nothing original there at all! What a joke.

No one complained at the sight of the new generation Monaro & Sandman.

VL Group A's aren't sacred. Enjoy re-creating history instead of putting it on a pedestal. Why does everyone complain that they only do retro parts. If they re-did original parts you'd all gasp in horror for fear of a flood of mockups. PB wanted to grab your attention with the VL HDT range and so does this. Not everybody loved him for it either but look at us now loving the old work.

Wonder how long until they start reproducing E1 and E2 HSV's :p

The Monaro isn't the same as a reproduction Group A on a chassis that in no way resembles the original.

At least the new Monaro has the slightest resemblance to what they were trying to imitate and is an actual car to produce. I mean, its a Coupe, what else would Holden call it?

For those who haven't read the other thread on this subject, this will be HDT's last retro styled car. What comes out next and when, it a total mystery but will undoubtedly have both it's lover's and hater's just as the
Retro's" do.

Like most pics, they don't do justice to a car. See her in the flesh, and it's sensational (interior a little plan - I grant you that). For me after spending the best part of 5 hours looking at it (and other HDT's) yesterday, in my opinion the size of the scoop works to the larger proporations of the VE.

Happy to see the rims up to 20" too. Black billet caps in the engine bay are a different touch too.

Doubt it very much that it is 350kw without S/C

Why, 350fwkw is only around 260rwkw, that is tune only territory for the 6 litre is it not? I would be more concerned if it was only 350 with the Charger.

Im pretty sure with the other Retro's that they had a cam and head package, or maybe just a cam? but it was a bit more than a tune.

Absolutelly love the interior. Those seats are just spot on.

Love the colour on the car. Really suits.

The wheels are a great suit to the VE shape strangely enough - Finally something that isn't Black, Rounded, or from HSV.

The bonnet scoop - well, perhaps it could have been marginally smaller, but then again, without seeing it in the flesh I don't want to make a call on that.

Generally, I reckon I'd be very happy seeing that in my garage each morning.

Did I mention that I love the interior?

I like it, Take the scoop and spoiler off its just andother ss with wheels.

I like the interior also.

Its a modern take on an old gem. Your not going to see as many on the road as you would ss and sv6. I think its been pulled off nicely.

My bad was getting RWKW mixed up with FWKW.

Still looks like a good piece of gear.
