Hi Guys and Gals,
I have just bought my first HSV Clubsport and will be heading to Sydney to pick it up in a weeks time. Then driving it back to Tassie. I can't wait to feel the LS1 beneath my foot, although I will probably spend most of my time in 6th gear since I won't get to use that much once I get back home.

I am an amateur photographer and would like to take some nice pics of the new beast. Does anyone know of some good spots along the Hume Highway to take some shots?

I'll be spending a night in Wagga Wagga and this might be the best time to get the camera out but anywhere along the route, that isn't too far out of the way, would be fine.

Thanks.

Personally I'd say screw the Hume Hwy and take Bells Line of Road instead out to Bathurst. You get enjoy your V8 along Bells, and then get some great shots of your car at Mt Panorama. Then head out through Cowra. Stop at the Rose Garden Coffee House next to Maccas in Cowra for an awesome feed, and then continue on through to Wagga for your stop.

Unfortunately, I realised all too late that a Bathurst trip would have been the tip of the iceburg for a fantastic cruise.

Didn't have enough time to make the detour.

My best advice, is this.

Get on google maps. Plot your journey, then see what towns you go through. Then google the town and hit images to come up with images of that particular town.

I would head through Lockhart from Wagga and keep going on through Tocumwal. That way you will have wheat silos along the way near Urana,
some old bridges, and Murray River photo opportunities. Also there are some 'endless road' shots between some of the towns short of tocumwal.

On the other route, there are some brilliant shots of the trees in the lake near Albury...quite impressive.

Go nuts on google images...

Can some of our country people advise if the Canola is still out? SOme shots of that is impressive..

Whats your intended route mate, I'm a Photographer for MOTOR magazine and we generally head that way all the time with detours to Wakefield Park.

There is the big wind farm (capital wind farm) on the way down to canberra way, that's a decent backdrop, the blokes there are always friendly and let me drive the cars in for some snaps.

Some really cool country lanes along the way to Goulburn, nice sunsets and soft light, Wagga is really not good for photo's. The mountains just after the border into Hotham are quite good aswell.

I wasn't thinking about photography when I made the plans for the trip. All I could think about was the new clubby. Now that I am waiting for it all to happen I'm realising I should have thought of a few other things (like bathurst, photos, nice cruise along the coast roads). Now I'm just seeing what I have time for.

If I can get a few nice backdrops I'll be happy.

Thanks guys.

Thanks for the ideas guys, but it looks like the weather has removed all chance of taking any shots until I get home.

I am still hoping it may change between now and then but current forecast is rain from Sydney to Melbourne this Saturday. Even if it clears on Sunday the car will probably be dirty from the day before. I wonder if I can give it a bit of a squirt (with water, not right foot) at the motel?
