I would say they are on smack as there is no diff in the guards between series 1 and 2. I would also go as far as saying they probably didnt do it properly when they caused this ripple. Can't blame the manufacturer for one selfs own stupidity. My advice take it somewhere reputable there is a mob in sydney from memory Sydney Guard rolling from memory happy to be corrected but had heard they were ok. Not sure where you are so can't be much more help

i have seen proably a hundred buckled rear quaters caused from guard rolling ,i have how ever seen a couple done that were ok ,so it can be done but risky .
i didnt want to risk it so i took to mine with a grinder and took them back to the spot welds, just use a wet rag on the out side of the panel and dont let it get hot,the main rub point with 22 inch wheels is where the rear bar bolts to the quater ,you need to move that bolt back 30mm and grind the flange back.its a bit of stuffing around but worth it ,im running 22/10 with 295's on the rear lowered with no rubbing

wow even still have seen it done on plenty of ve's with no rippling it all depends on the tool they use and how careful they are to begin with

Holy crap that flaring is cool. Cost please? Tempe Tyres huh. Cool, Syd guard rolling said they would ripple.

Another option instead of rolling the guards.....just get the angle grinder out and cut the inner lip so that the tyres don't scrub. That's what I did on mine. Then of course, cover with rust proof paint. Nobody will ever know what has been done.

I did mine my self. The only spot the ripple is right at the top where there is a hole. I used a heat gun and a rubber mallet. Took my time and gently heated and tapped. Worked a treat. Was easy but you have to be careful.
The color of your car is important too. I have seen a white ute with the lip folded flat and you can't even see a ripple.
It still was not enough for me so then I took the grinder to them :D.
Perfect.
Good luck.

Cost 3k allows me to fit 9.5" rims at the front and 11" at the rear. Neil at Unique Auto Refinishers did the work.
