If anyone is still after one of these, I have some information which may help.

Forget going to ask your Holden dealer if they know anything about these, because I can tell you right now, they will give you the run around cos they are a bunch of tossers.

It seems I have more info and knowledge on some Holden parts/items then they do, and I spend my time looking and searching. They have even thanked me for helping them out.... serious??

Contact Informedia, they are located in Melbourne (they produce these DVDs for Holden’s) ask the reception girl if you could have Glenn Pierce contact details as you are after a Holden workshop manual. This guy is in charge of the DVD workshop manuals and he only sells them through Holden dealers and not to the public. Once you get his details head down to your Holden dealer spare parts, tell them you want VZ102006 VZ series or VY202005 VY series (unsure if the VY is still available check with Glenn when you phone him) the dealer will probably tell you they can’t find it in their system. You tell them to ring this bloke Glenn from Informedia as he distributes to dealers and give them $100 deposit and tell them to order a copy in for you.

Cost should be around the $450 mark – trade. Manual is about 5,000 pages long, covers every body shape and special model released in the series.

Hope this helps.

Perhaps someone could do a group buy on these?

I know I'd like one and have been in the same situation with Holden but I'd assumed in my case it was due to the limited production basis of my car.
(Cross6 Tonner, only 250 made)

Thanks for the info, good effort.
Tell me, does the manual cover the HSV range as well? Specifically the VZ LS2 Clubsport.

You can copy these discs but each of the pdf's are protected & you can't just open them. Unless off course you own the original & have the rego bla bla.
The write protection can be removed & reburnt with the menu intact but a shit load of trouble to do it! So yes it can be done but not as easy as burning disc to disc!

Cheers

I would be happy to pay for the DVD, but only if the VZ disc covers the HSV range with the 6lt LS2.
Thanks abrowne70 for your reply regarding the VY but does anyone know about VZ?

Also super keen on some type of copy of this disc, $450.00 for a manual is a shock to the system though.

I also have the VZ one, i will check it within the next couple of days, dont have it with me atm.
I assume that the VZ one has the HSV like the VY one as they are the same brand etc.

Yes $450 is expensive for a manual but thats because its the one the holden dealers have

Plenty of half decent parts people know all about how to sell one...;)
(And yes, contrary to popular forum opinion, there are plenty around that do "ok" in the job :))

I purchased one today (this thread reminded me this is the only DVD I don't have). Called Holden spare parts he's said there is a procedure sheet on it. Rang me back 10 mins later and it was done. $450+GST

Also if you need to look something up just go to www.gmtechinfo.com and it's $20 for 2 days access to all of the manuals and more.

How about it Davo?? :)

I spoke to Barry Bourke a couple of months ago and they reckon there are none left for the VZ AWD series. I hope they are wrong.

I am in as well if the standard VZ one does't cover the Cross 6/8 Series.

Only VE Commodore's are on the above site, and various other models from 06 on.
Infomedia are the source for earlier models like VY/VZ, plus some later stuff still like the Rodeo/Colorado.

Sorry. :hide:
Too many variables in people's requirements plus the way they have to be ordered make it rather unappealing to me.
If a dealer is prepared to sell at trade then I'd suggest people pay up.

Fair enough, but the engine's still rather different, meaning much of the related stuff is too...:whip:

Was just wondering if anyone had tried using Linux to view the Manual? I have used this method to bypass printing restrictions on PDF files in the past. It may work in this case.

But I do believe my local Holden counter-jumper will be getting a visit from me shortly. =D

I picked up my copy yesterday and my parts guy even gave me a bit of a discount, $467.50.
For those that have asked, there is referance in the manual to the AWD setup.
When i first loaded mine, i had trouble loading the pdf reader but the people at infomedia were very helpfull and walked me through the correct configuration for my PC to get it all working.
Super Coach, thanks for the heads up on this manual, it is well worth the money in my books.

Digging up an old thread here, I've been trying to locate the VY II disc p/n VY202005 with no success, Holden Dealers have deleted the item and is no longer available. Can someone PM me with some other ideas? I'm located in Adelaide. Many Thanks

Best shot is look up a company called Infomedia they produced them. No point buying someone else's copy as they are per copy activated. Like anything they can be hacked etc but that's the risk you take!

Other avenue perhaps is the Delco site & buy access to the manuals you require online then. https://www.acdelcotds.com/acdelco/action/subscribehome

If that's the case your only other avenue is aftermarket manuals or do what we do & ask here...BTW there is a myriad of information if you care to search ;)

Note to anyone ..If you do have these working on PCs with Windows 7
DO NOT update that machine to Win10

I spent at least 8 hours over about a week last year on the phone to InfoMedia with the 3 CD/DVDs I have
trying to get them to run (and after a major hassles getting the encryption to work first off)
and
no... they do not run under Win10 (irrespective of what version of Adobe reader you have)

I now have an old 2nd hand HP laptop running Win7 that has all my car stuff inc these on it... they work just fine

Micks
12-04-2016, 06:36 AM
True about win 10, MS are very cunning in moving peeps over to it. They put out patches for win 7 on a monthly basis for readiness to make you swap to 10! Most of which is telementary phone home to MS stuff.
Smitty you could try Virtual box running another OS to use those older programs too.
