Hi guys,

Not sure if this is in the right section, if not sorry!

I have a 2001 WH Statesman International fitted with a full FBSS airbag suspension kit. It has the accuair self level with touchpad and I recently went to tasmania with some friends from another forum for the tassie leg of C4C. Here I encountered some problems with the accuair system and was wondering if anyone here had experienced anything similar?

At C4C in tassie I was playing with my bags in the car park and the actuators that tell the self level what height the front wheels are at popped off, so then it wouldnt level itself out.

Anthony was able to re-attach them back at the stato mansion (thanks heaps mate!), but the system still wouldnt level out.

We tried resetting it several times and thought it worked, but after a few minutes it just started throwing out errors and re-adjusting itself with one or more wheels out of level.

Luckily I had an override built in to it so I could set the levels manually and was able to raise it and drive it without worrying about it dropping down onto the wheels and potentially causing a massive accident, but I have no idea why it would be doing it!

The accuair is all brand new and was installed professionally and cost me a lot of money. Has anyone else running bags with a accuair system had any similar problems with thiers? Or am I the only one?

I dont mess around with mine and Nigels system running 1/2" lines which are way faster than mine has never had any problems!

It goes back to airride tomorrow and hopefully they can figure it out and get it working again, but it kinda ruined my whole last 2 days in tassie with worrying about it ****ing up more.

Plus, the override is built in to the handbrake so I had the handbrake warning tone going every 30 seconds all the way to devenport!

Any help would be much appreciated, thanks guys!

ive just installed the self leveller, VU4 and touch pad... i havent driven on it but often give it power to raise and lower when workin on me ute... but the first night i set it up u could go to 1,2,3 set heights- add extra weight 1-2 people say and it would automatically adjust back up with more pressure, then when ya jump off vise versa it would let air out to set height..... now it wont do it think i might reset but also send an email to accuair them self....

did your kit come with a hand brake wire or did you fit one seprately??? mine didnt which is unengineerable..

cheers mate, i had my kit installed at air ride here in melbourne. I took it back last week and they tested it and they were able to fix it by changing the computer to a new one.

i had similar problems with mine initially, with it changing the levels all the time. If you have an accuair system you can adjust the sensitivity of the self level so it doesnt do it all the tim. They couldnt figure out what was wrong with mine, all the sensors are functioning correctly so they changed out the computer. Glenn from air ride reckons that it could be a problem with the amount of ampage the compressors draw throwing the computer out when it drops below the required levels. The ECU they have installed is one that accuair have specifically prepared NOT to throw these errors, however they suggest installing a better battery which I will be doing in the near future.

The override I have is not part of the kit, air ride installed it for me, its just a missle switch that bridges the handbrake switch so the touchpad is operational while the car is in motion. If you are in melbourne go and see them or call and im sure they will be happy to help.
