VZ Cluster Extras

I’m sure I read something about adding extras to the instrument cluster display in this forum or perhaps another Holden one, but can anyone advise.

I want to know how do you make, if you can make the passenger seat belt and the door ajar icons active? They are currently inactive on my VZ Monaro.
I also know the HSV Coupe 4 has the word Coupe 4 then its build number in the main LCD display where the Odometer is, when the vehicle is stationary. I know I read something about someone who put the Holden logo or similar in that spot. I wouldn’t mind it reading Monaro CV8Z on mine.

Any advice?

The passenger seat belt and the door ajar icons would relate to BCM level.
Probably have to upgrade it to enable!
As far as cluster info yes can all be changed both the Logo & wording.

As far as I know the static information can be tweaked. Saw a couple of videos, one in particular was a VY which read "D1STURB3D" where your pic reads "Coupe 4". Things like the startup logo have also been modified.

I'm currently looking into dynamic changes via the CAN bus which the stock headunit taps into. There's a video on youtube of a guy who got his ipod integrated headunit to show track names on the dash screen (not just the headunit screen like the standard kit). Problem is CAN bus debugging is a pain in the ass and there's no complete documentation of it on the net from what I can find.

Pm Delco. IIRC the dash programing requires the right tools. Pretty sure Dan has them.

Can this be done with any Cluster or just Monaro

Dash programming that I do is not via a tech 2 but with special software that interfaces with the dash , I can only do it when it is in the vehicle as I never bothered to build a dash harness.

Ok thanks for that info Delco. Does anyone know any other avenues? i thought maybe there was someone on this forum or perhaps it was the JC one that did it. Username Phreddy rings a bell......
