View Full Version : Muffler brand enquiry!

Hey guys, I had a set of mufflers installed on my ute a few years ago.

The brand was Sound****, can't remember the second part of the name. They cost me roughly $700 installed in stainless steel and were 2.5" in size. They weren't straight through either. These were installed before redback and a few other brands released their ute versions.

I need to find out the brand name if possible, because I was rear ended a few weeks ago and I'm scared the insurance company will just replace with some cheap chinese xforce crap or something.

Anyone have an idea of the name/brand/place I could get a quote for new ones? They had the tips already welded on and I bought them from an exhaust shop in dandenong south.

Just tell insurance it was a kpm or difilippo ....

Nah I can't already tried but he has no idea as the guy who ordered it doesn't work there anymore lol.

Hopefully the replace it with something like kpm and not xforce coz I won't be accepting it.

Did you have the exhaust modification listed on your policy ??? If not the insurer would be quite within their rights to replace with a Holden/factory item.

Yep, if it's not specifically listed as a modification then they WILL replace it with a stock Holden part.

Does POWER SOUND ring any bells? If so, it's made by Autobend NZ - same product as Rage, but private labelled in Aus for a wholesaler.

And BTW, no not listed on my policy, BUT thats irrelevant as I'm going through the insurance of the guy who hit me. Regardless of my mods (as long as its roadworthy and I didn't cause the accident my car needs to fixed to as close as it was before the accident. I checked all of this. Claim wasn't lodged with my insurance.
