You must be able to buy them in RHD, when we were at DFO Brisbane a couple of months back I bought a Lottery Ticket from a Surf Life Saving Club stall, first prize was an Orange Camaro, nice looking car.

There is a few places that do the RHD conversions. It has to be done to get them registered. Cars have to be a certain age to remain LHD. Unfortunately, for cars after 1986 (from memory), only certain shops can do the conversions, and they charge an arm and a leg.
A new Camaro, drive away, will cost $100k+ over here. That's what the average price was when i was looking around a while a go while bored at work. I was working in the industry so i decided to do a bit of "investigation"/

There's a silver one getting around Melbourne that I've seen a few times. They do look pretty nice in person!
BLACK 346: I'm guessing you didn't win then? :p

Hi
A neighbour of mine has a silver one with black stripes. He lives about 200metres away and I can hear it rumble when he starts it. I know its stroked and supercharged and goes hard....oh and it's RHD too.
Rumours going around he spent over $100,000 on his.

Richard

Have seen one in Melbourne. Also saw a nice Cadillac Escalade ESV. Good to see there are people willing to put in the effort/expense.
Given the mechanical similarity with the VE, shouldn't be too hard to maintain either.

If it's the same silver/black one as the one I'm thinking of , It should soon rumble a little louder :)

Both the challenger and the camaro are about $40k in the states as well. Pay bout 3% interest on a car loan. Depressing.

There was a brief time when a dealership in the US was selling a Chevrolet Caprice PPV for US$99,000. That was before they started to become a bit easier for private buyers to get ahold of. It's all about rarity.

There was a yellow one for sale over here (NZ) in a Holden dealer. Think it was new and was RHD. Mind you the $125k NZD was a bit high for me :(.

Awesome car but when our dollar is worth what it is and considering how cheap they are in the states, you'd need to be pretty passionate to get one.

Lets say, $40k (US) to buy the car brand new, $30k for the conversion (that's about what they charge), $5k to import, plus luxery car tax, etc, and then a bit of profit for the company (you cant expect them to do it for nothing).... It all adds up fairly quick.
Yea i agree that they are way to over priced, and the Holden should release them here. Considering they are essentially an Australian designed car, and they are set up for RHD as well as LHD.
