Hi all,
I am seriously considering a full DiFilippo twin 3" system for my WH. I have forked out many thousands of dollars in recent times on exhausts for LS1's, but have never seemingly got the right note for my personal taste so this time, i am wondering if anyone in adelaide, has a Difilippo on there LS1 in general that I can have a listen to?

Cheers,
James.

Hey James,

Have you considered that the noise you seek might not be able to be achieved by headers/cats/exhaust alone, and that the noise you want may require further mods like cam or heads or both (not sure if heads change sound)? Its possible one of your previous exhausts may have delivered the sound you want if you combined it with further mods.

Maybe next time there is a LS1 cruise in Adelaide, go along, find a car you like the sound of, and then ask what system and other mods they have (remembering that what sounds good on a short wheel base may not deliver the same sound on your long wheel base).

Also, are you judging sound from inside the car or outside, and which is more important to you - the sound you hear as the driver, or what those outside the car hear?

LS1 Cruise in Adelaide??

PM BlackVE, he just put a twin 3" DF on his SV8, but its cammed.

Exhaust note does vary from car to car whether its Manual/Auto, stock stall/aftermarket stall converter. Engine mods etc.

i've just got a second hand difilippo 3" and god it sounds great deep noise best ls1 sound i've heard, funny thing is it's quiter than my old 2 1/2" redback system.

Do they make a system for the statesman???

I just pm'd blackve, cheers for that!

I spoke to Darren today and apparently they make a catback for the statesman, how ever I've been thinking of buying the mufflers and getting exhaust technology(KPM) to fabricate it for me, that way I can get those centre mufflers tight to the car, and have The rear made to exactly how i want it!! Also, I've heard so many good things about Difilippo, and even they sound very good on you-tube! I just don't want to go spend $3-$4k again without hearing one in real life!!

if you do get a di filippo fitted to the statesman i would be interested in a listen as im thinking of getting a system for the barge myself. had the x-force systems a couple of times but was chasing a different sound this time, either a di filippo or was thinking maybe a big single.

Well either use Di Filippo, or get Exhaust Technology(KPM) to use there "FAMOUS" VE mufflers (the ones on the rear of there famous ve system) use them in the centre as centre mufflers, then just 12" stainless hot-dogs at the rear.. I'm not 100% sure! lol

the best thing you could do would be to steer clear of exhaust tech or kpm systems IMO

Why is that?

KPM exhausts are overpirced and lacking in quality and as for there so called "bolt up" well thats another story.

exhaust tech used to be good back in the day, when mark was doing the work himself

Who would you use to fabricate a system in Adelaide?
