Guys,
I have a ve r8 manual and am finally getting around to getting an exhaust upgrade.
What is the better out of the two, hurricane or pacemaker?
I get either the 2.5 or 3 inch for a similar price but have heard that the 3 inch will create more drone.
Any feedback would be appreciated.

I have 4 into 1 x 1.7/8 Pacemakers, Ballistic 100cell cats and a 3 inch Hurricane exhaust........NO drone at all.

That question is a bit like asking whether you should vote Labor or Liberal (or donkey ). There is almost certainly no right answer as both are well known and regarded brands - some will say one, some will say the other.

Coming from bikes I've noticed, whilst fitting a exhaust can make the note a little louder it's the cats that really kill em. On bikes however it's probably a bit easier to get away with the side of the road copper inspection when he doesn't know what to look for, or said pipe work is hidden well by fairings.
On my ute, fitted the cat back only and was disapointed with results. Full system with high flow cats is only way IMO (since you really can't run without em legally...much easier to pick up on a car too)....
BTW - mine is Pacemaker from engine to tip. LOOOOOOOVE IT.

unless pacemaker have improved their cat back for a ve i would not touch one.
I had one of the early versions and it was load a,s and it droned like a bitch.
after a long waight and a lot of winging to the pacemaker state rep he gave me a pair of rear mufflers which helped with the drone but it was a bit like putting a cork in the exhaust tip. (choked the exhaust)
not to mention they use round rear mufflers and you can see the bottom half of the muffler from behind the car.
and ifthe car is low when you reverse into a parking bay the rear mufflers scrape on alot of the kerbs.
you have a nice car spend the money and get a manta cat back
(i know you didnt ask about this one but it was my 3rd cat back and i have had it for 3 years and would replace it with the same again if i was buying today)

Both made out of 409 grade steel?
Most 'drone' comes down to so many things (cats, headers and gearing).
Also, with exhaust systems you do get what you pay for.
Half of them are made out of kitchen sinks from China :bawl::yup:
Good-Luck
