When I had the differential ratio changed on my vt I also had the speedometer recalibrated. From road tests they mention that at 100kph the car is traveling at 96 kph. Does anyone know that when a speedometer is recalibrated will it read correct or will it still have the same discrepancy. My reason for asking is that I have got a couple of speeding tickets in the last few weeks. One was for 110 kph. I generally set my speedometer at 110 on the open road with the thinking that I am traveling at under that speed anyway and will be quite safe.

That's something you need to talk to the person correcting the speedo about when you get it done. I would suggest if you didn't say anything it would be set spot on.

Check it against a gps Keith, they could have calibrated it to any tolerance they wanted.
