What would be the best bang for ur buck! Thinking about prices on engineering and legalities etc!? Looking into what to do next and am thinking a 408 or even 427 stroker for my Ve ute.

Pretty hard to go past a bolt on supercharger for value for money. Plus they are easily removed to be sold at a later date.
That said, it really depends what you want from the car, how much your willing to spend and whether you can do any of the work yourself.
Remember, a higher power figure is great for impressing tossers, but in the real world there is more important things in regards to a nice ride.
What else has been done to the car?
Just me personally... Id take a Head/cam combo with a few suspension/brake upgrades over the outright power of a forced induction engine.
Cheers

This is the sole reason I would vote s/charger. If you leave the engine internals standard then you know how it is going to drive manners wise too.
I have done the cam, then stroker route, and wish I had done the bolt on s/charger instead, as much as I enjoyed the stroker... Theres alot less buggering around and risk involved with simple bolt on parts.

Ive got a stroker, and Ive got a blown car
Bloody hard decision
The blown(auto) car is a dream to drive, and is my Wifes daily drive
The stroker(Manual) is a handful to drive in town, but fark it is awesome out on the highway
Different way the power comes on , and totally different manners
If I do it again, I will go big forged stroker with very mid or stock cam, and big blower:driving::idea:

Horses for courses, night and day between the two. If you intend on driving your car more than 100ks per week, then the turbo kit is perfect. Mild mannered (as quiet as stock), but a sh1t load of fun on boost.
If you want attitude and attention, then the stroker is the go. But it wakes the neighbours, farken stinks of fuel/ fumes and pisses of your missus when shes in the car too. So, it depends on what you wanna do with your car.
But they will give totally different power delivery also. Turbo will be linear. Stroker will everything all at once. My next build with involve both :deal:

+1 for a twin turbo

At the moment it's just had a cam kit put in making a bit over 400rwhp. I really just wanna crack the 500 maybe 600hp mark! Ute gets driven maybe 10-50km a wk!!

Well when asking whats the best 'bang for buck' or value for money, FI would win IMO.

Pretty much all depends on what the car is used for! it it's driven all the time like a few other people have stated then go blower but if it hardly gets driven then go the stroker. Blowers are sleepy as :)

I vote the Blower..
I have a MP2300 on myVE and the boys at Russo's got 487rwkw out of it today.
It's manners around town are awesome. with 550Fltb on tap it will tear the tread off anything then with the varex mufflers, all you get is the true meaning of sleeper.....and it get 8.1 per 100km going to melbourne...I just love it...

As stated bang for buck supercharger due to being able to resell the kit if needed.
Though a stroker is just in another league, russo built a 427 stroker for a mates ve clubsport and I have driven it on numerous occasions and the power and torque it produces is unbelievable and it sounds freakin insane.:)

especially if the motor goes bang
I dunno... break a built motor and you're in a world of hurt, break a stock/blown motor, rip it out, chuck another in and bolt your blower back on.
I'd personally go a blower.

I say both as I'm going stroker and 1 big single turbo lol, I guess best bang for your buck though is bolt on a s/cer and do your valve springs why you are at it. Make sure it's a pd blower like a harrop or something of the like, alot more fun when you put the angry foot down :)

already have both the off boost torque of the stroker down low is awesome!!! i can short shift not getting any boost and it still gets up and goes very well!!!! add the boost = hang on !!!! as said pd s/charger is probably the go for the take on/off factor all depends on budget as those setups still aint cheap!!!! cheers

A mate and i both have L98s he went stroker i went blower both make around 490rwhp,both cost about the same, both run similar times at the strip, but his fuel consumption is about 20 litres per 100 and mine is about 13 on average.

Ive been tossing up the same thing for 2 years and still no closer to deciding. You didnt mention if you have a budget or limit to what you want to spend. Im also interested in the power delivery of both and if it similar or not.

If were me, i'd probably go a blower, but it'd be a tough choice!!!
