Might sound stupid, but did you bleed both sides of the caliper?? Heard of it been done before

Might sound silly but have you bled the inside bleed nipples of each caliper.

All I'm thinking is what it could be is still air in the system. Maybe try again after giving the pedal a few pumps. It was bleed properly yeh?

I dont know about these calipers, but i have seen people install their calipers on opposite sides, eg, left caliper on the right wheel, therefor making the bleed nipple at the bottom doing sweat FA

Everytime I have bled my brakes the pedal is squishy as hell afterwards and it is only with my brakes. Doing mates cars etc is a breeze. We never let any air get in the system (reservoir always topped up) always do the correct procedure in regards to the opening and closing of the bleed valves. The only way my ute seems to be able to be bled properly is using a Tech2. It just says open X bleed valve and pump pedal and then it starts pumping the ABS unit and when its finished it says close X bleed valve. Then it continues to do that but telling you to go to a different wheel each time. Takes 10 minutes to do and is 100% every time.
So perhaps you have air trapped in the ABS system and need to do something like this??

That's what I was going to say. Commodore have a bleed valve on ABS unit like other cars or not? Haven't checked mine but many other cars have a bleed valve on the ABS unit.

i.m thinking the inside nipple wasn't done:idea:
will let the boys know thanks.
and when he replaced the original R8 brakes with the bigger ones he did put them upside down, but he made sure they went on the rightway up this time.
thanks Garry
thanks guys hope the problem will be fixed.
the story went something like this!
me did you bleed the inside of the calipers
him: blank look! nothing on the inside.
me : go to car and ask "WHATS THIS"
him : didn't even see that!
so i reckon thats the problem, good diagnostics fellas

Make sure he bleeds the OUTSIDE nipple on each caliper FIRST, then the inside nipple, ie outer LR, inner LR, etc, etc....

You should be able to buy a brake pedal from a wrecker pretty easily, try Holmart. Once you have one, install and problem solved! :D

Dude you shouldnt really be messing with brakes on a car if you dont understand how to bleed them. You get it wrong, someone can die. Just my 2c
Sorry if it offends, but you get that.

no offence taken. i agree some parts should be left to the professionals, funny that it was a professional that bled the brakes with all the good gadgets, and i asked the forum a question and the answer was given pretty damm quick.
i hadn't even had a look till the mornin and it was obvious what the answer was when i had a LOOK. just a simple hydraulic braking system. start the furthest from the reservoir and move to the closest to eliminate air in the system.
you know kids, try for 3 hours to bleed the system, then ask a question from somebody else and they then see what they should be looking for. the obvious!
Garry
ps fixed many more complicated hydraulic systems than these:p

It frightens me how many so called professionals I see that mount calipers upside down, dont understand how to bleed the inner - and my favourite looking at the slot direction to mount disc rotors and getting the vanes back to front.

I don't see how you get the right to comment. You sold cheap turbo kits with dodgy turbos for years. They could have ****ed up and resulted in someone dying too. :teach:
