Hi Guys,

My VZ monaro is a bit lower than standard and the first thing I noticed was the dull response on change of direction. Looking into this, I was wondering if another ball joint with a longer ball stem cound be used to lower the outer ball joint say an inch or so, anything like this available?

This is my last thing to improve the response, I have reduced toe-in to zero (actually a little toe out), road racing semi's and am enquiring about a linear rack.

Any help on this as it is driving me mad!

Regards

Adrian

Harrop make a really nice spindle which has the ball joint pick-up lower as well as the steering arm pick-up also lower to optimise bump steer associated with LBJ relocation. as a bonus the wheel bearing is heavy duty from a Rodeo ( I recall). Unfortunately at >$2K I cant justify this cost.

Another option is to retain the factory LBJ and instead fit CrMo steel spacers between the LBJ and spindle. I think this would be the better option as I feel it would be stronger.

Relocating the LBJ so as to recover lost rollcentre and camber gain is very popular on Mac strut cars such as Mitsu Evo, STI subi's etc.

Any ideas where to source this type of stuff, i'm at a loss where to start?

What is the Std ball joint outer diameter, stud diameter, length and taper (degrees)? With this info I could chase some longer stemed ball joints.

Cheers
