View Full Version : help fitting harmonic balancer
I installing an 8 rib pully set from Harrop and the harmonic balancer is on and all the pulleys line up perfectly, but the crank is approx. 3mm short of the front of the balancer. I need to pin the crank and were it finishes I wont be able to get the drill to start because there not flush.
Has anyone else came accross this problem or got any idears whats wrong, I might have to remove the new power bond balancer and check it against the original blancer

Was your crank shaft flush with the end of harmonic balancer, thats the bit Im worried about . I have an angle drill and waiting on the pin kit to come from harrop.

They never go flush, stock or aftermarket. Always 3-4mm proud of the crank snout. Put a washer or something inside to make it flush and easier to drill
Thanks Jezza thats want I needed to know. I just wasnt sure as I didnt take much notice of the existing one on removal.
