Tyre Question

I have a Nissan D40, tyres have about 5mm of tread before the wear indicatos. Today at the dump I drove over some ceramic tiles and it blew out my rear tyre

Now my question is would it be safe to change that tyre over for a tyre that was originally on the car it also has about 5mm before indicator but the tyre would be at least 6 years old and hasnt been on the ute for at least 4 years . Just sitting in the shed. It will be going on the rear.

Put it on the rear only. You shouldn't have any problems, but if it does fail it will normally go out of shape before it blows.
It will just sit it the shed and eventually get thrown away so use it.
