Ok, I'm after some Tyres for motorvation in January , I'll be running 245/35/20 on the rear
What I wonna no is if any of u have had either the archilles and/or altenza's on and bagged them up and how much smoke they produced??
I don't wonna get Tyres that spin heaps but smoke FA, but I'm not gonna spend a fortune either lol
Archilles I can get for $169
Altenza's for $180
There my cheapest option, please share personal experience only
Cheers

I run Achilles as well.. but haven't tested them in the manner you require...
BTW, that's a really good price on 20's in the Achilles, where can you get them for that?

Have produced 3x smoke shows on Achilles - pretty good. Watch you wreck a 20"..

I thought that's about the going rate for Achilles? I wouldn't pay much more!
Should have got them last month and baked them in the summer sun for a few weeks ;)

I have smoked a set of achilles and they weren't that bad from memory.. Decent smoke output.

Think I might given a go.
The rims they are going on are the same as I have on now, rather than swap rims I bought 2 more = matching front and back,
They're my skid rims so if they get scratched I don't care :)
White lie- does putting them in the sun dry them out and make them smoke more??

Achilles seem to be really soft compound, they leave very black lines and smoke well but i doubt theyll last long

Won't last long ya reckon, 2nd, 3rd gear burnouts.... See which ones I get. The altenza's are only up the road .
Maybe I'll take a pair of each hahahaah

Probably a stupid question, but why not just get a pair of stockies to throw on the back? I would have thought you would get more tyre for the money, plus there's less chance that you'll need to pull burnt rubber of your nice 20's afterwards.

Leaving them in the sun to dry out will make them spin easier initially but it hasn't done anything for smoke I don't think. I keep my burnout tyres outside and til you break them in it's actually quite dangerous, worse than a mini spool in the wet. Apparently soaking them in oil helps. Are you entering a burnout comp or powerskids?

Can't put stockies on a VE HSV mate, brakes are too big, the 20's I bought extra, they are dedicated skid rims, drift rims etc.... They are only 8.5" wide, the reall rears Are 10" wide Hense why I don't wonna chew them up.
Gonna try and get a late entry for the powerskids, been told its do-able, but just wonna crack some mass skids as ya do when ya there :)

Have to have matching rims at motorvation Hense why I bought 2 more rims the same as what I have,
Be fuked if I'm changing all 4 rims just to do more skidz, it's a stupid rule...
I have 18" speedy cobalts with et's on but cos they have to be matching rims I'm not even gonna take them

Will they enforce that? Powercruise have the same rule. Pretty sure i was running 18s front and 15s rear all day
