I have done the obligatory searches and can't seem to find the exact answer I am after. SO I have one for the Wheel Nuts!

I want to know if you can fit on an E2 GTS with stock MRC;

Rear 305/30/20 10.5" Wheel or 295/30/20 10" Wheel

Front 255/30/20 9.5" Wheel or 255/30/20 9" Wheel

Would I need to roll the guards? Would they rub? I am trying to maintain similar driveability and feel on the road as the OEM HSV wheels. If I had too I would go to 9" front & 10' inch rear if the larger wheels wouldn't work.

It seems a few people with SSV & SS's have done a 305 or 315 but is the wheel arch width and depth the same in the E2 as the VE holdens? Or are the guards pumped a little more for the HSV's

Appreciate any feedback regarding this as I don't want to spend big $$$$ for it not to work. I have not spoken to the shop about fitment as of yet as becuase I was looking for additonal feedback and information before I discuss with them on problems or issues people have had with fitment.

with alot of work they "could fit"

but ideally the 10's rear and 9's front as u wonna run 20's,

I no some one running 305 rears and 255 front but they are on 19's and they still needed a fair bit of guard work, then getting the rims in the right offset etc.....

295/30/20 on a 10" would fit but will def need guard rolling, but again depends on the offset,

im running 275's on some 10"rims and am going up to 285 next, all i have is rolled guards and my cars lowered, but no rubbing at all.

I think you are right about the going the 9 & 10 instead, I have been able to confirm the 305mm fits on the 10" rim no problem so it still could be an option

Thanks for the feedback

Make that 265/35/R19 +30 offset at the front Kev :-)

Before I modded the guards I ran 255/35/R20 on stock VE offsets. But that required a 20mm hubcentric spacer to stop the wheel hitting the front shockie.

Each to their own but I would never run a 305 on 10 inch rim, minimum size to get the tyre functioning properly would be a 11.

Think Drew ran his 305's on a 10 but he wasnt happy with the way the tyre was contacting the road.

So would suggest going back to 295 on a 10" instead?

Drew what were you running on the front at the time?

Cheers

Never tried that combo prior to this I ran a 285/30/20 on a 9.5 rim. Funnily enough the Michelins I used were a "skinny" tyre, they werent really much wider than the sumitomo's they replaced.

Tyres width's can vary a bit from the specified width, the new 305's i have actual measure out to be 320 wide wall to wall.

sorry to drag this out a bit

How many guys have tried aftermarket rims on an E2/E3 GTS with the 6 piston option. Really wanting to keep my wheels to put on one but a comment from a mate this morning has got me wondering if they will fit.

Adam fronts on the "red" brakes are 20x8.5J 36P and rears 20x9.5J 57P. Not sure what spec the front has for the 6 piston upgrade though...will check my spare tonight as it is the same as the rims on the front and let ya know...

Thanks mate. I dearly want my rims on a white or silver GTS. If they don't fit the yellow brakes, I don't know if I should sacrifice my wheels to get the 6 pistons or simply get the reds. The car I'm looking at had yellow but the brand newy I'm looking at has red... But is more expensive

What are the specs on your wheels ?

Hope you don't mind if I jump in on this thread as well, but I am looking to order some custom made 3 piece wheels ex USA for my new E3 Maloo, I can spec them with any offset I require, so trying to find the optimal size to max them out running 22x9 front 22x10 rear just need to find the correct offset, I will have the guards lips rolled to suit.

Thanks in advance

James

Adam my spare is 20x8.5J 36P.......I thought the wheels on the 6 piston brakes on the front were different but it seems not...

John, according to this website
http://www.newwheelsnow.com/wheels/2352/NICHE/Niche-Sport-Matte-Black-.html

Specs are

Rear
Dia 20 radius 10 5x120 and offset 20

Front
Dia 20 radius 8.5 5x120 and offset 35.

As I said I'll bet lots of money the rears are ok on a GTS with big brakes but the fronts....

Adam I am no guru on rim offsets but if my rears are 56P..I assume this is the offset so wouldn't you need a minimum of 56 offset ? Those niche sports are 40mm offest on the rear ?

My 20x10 Cheetahs are offset 51 and with my rolled guards could take off another 2 or 3mm depending in the tyre. Wouldn't want to go less than that 'though.
