Hi Guys,

I have an Elite Engineering oil catch can and the removable diffuser is continually coming loose. Now I read on Elite Engineering's website that "it is highly recommended to apply a small amount of "Blue" Loctite on threads of the diffuser. I know Loctite Red is permanent (needs heat to remove) & Loctite Blue is semi-permanent (& removable without heat). Now I've shopped around and the closest thing I've found is Loctite 243 Threadlocker. Can I use this? What are other people with these catch cans using? Thanks guys

243 is medium strength as far as i know. Use it all the time on bike and car fasteners. You should be right with this just apply a little bit though!!!

However i haven't had any issues with my elite catch can.

Thanks mate. The packaging does say "Nut Lock" - removable strength threadlocker, so I assume that I can use it, however, I'm just interested what type of Loctite other people are using & if they are having the same problems. My car is cammed but it only has a smallish cam in it with 112LSA

I have had similar problems with my Elite Can. I will be checking it tomorrow as i just got back from a round trip to Gladstone (1200km round trip). If it has come loose again, I will try the blue "Loctite", as I have some in the toolbox.

I asked the question to Steve @Elite Engineering in the USA and he said that "Loctite 243 Threadlocker is perfect to use for this application." I have to say, like Elite Engineering's products, their tech support is excellent (and fast)
