Hey People,

Just wondering if you guys can watch this video and tell me what damage I might have done. My guess is that its coming from my clutch but not sure if I should pull my box out and have a look in there. I have a brass button clutch which I thought would handle some abuse. I have only done around 1000ks since clutch was in. This video was about my 7th (and final) run down the track within around 2 hours with a decent 3rd gear burnout for 3 of the runs. I didnt go down the track when this happened I pulled off and parked the car up.

I drove the car home about an hour later and it didnt feel much different to normal, just a little bit harder to get into gear but thats about it. I had a look in my clutch fluid resivior today and there are quite a few floaty bits in it but cant tell what they are.

Can someone help me out with some suggestions on what to do. Should I just flush fluid out and bleed up with new fluid and see how it goes or take box out and inspect it.

My car is a VZ Monaro 5.7l LS1 with around 430hp at the wheels.

Cheers

Thanks Skidmarx, You reckon the clutch is fingered or the box?

i think its from dropping 3rd... and the clutch wasnt grabbing properly hense all the sparks., thats just my theory anyway, cant see it being the box.

Yeah didnt think it was the box there was no noises or anything on the way home. You think it could have just been too hot causing it to slip and spark?

I cant see it being the box, you wouldnt see those sparks comming out. Im thinking the clutch was slipping, thus causing the sparks but also making it harder to select gears as you may have taken a fair bit of material off. You may have busted a finger on the pressure plate also. Anywho, id rather pull the box out and take a look rather then theorize what it could be
