I have been looking at different 8 throttle body intakes to use on a engine going into a VX, I dont want to use a air box assembly if possible, i want the trumpets exposed with air filter socks on them. The only problem is getting good air to them. There are a few different aftermarket bonnets around, these Savage steel bonnets look the besthttp://www.savage-fibreglass.com/G8-STYLE-VT-BONNET.htm, just wondering how effective they are as an intake? Has anybody used them for this purpose?

I am unsure weather they work best as a bonnet vent, venting the hot air out from under the bonnet or if they feed pressured air under the bonnet. Reading up on air pressures around cars it looks like the best place for intake air is either at the base of the windscreen or the front of the car, looking at different diagrams ect, there is high pressure air at the front of the car which gets lower as the bonnet flattens out until it hits the windscreen creating high pressure again. The E3/G8 bonnets intakes seem to be in the zone where the air pressure starts lowering so to me they may work but how good is the question?

Anybodys thoughts, experiences and/ or usage of bonnet intakes like these would be great.

Thanks
