I have a VX Clubsport that has a grinding noise whenever I engage the clutch, so I took it to HSV in Brisbane and they charged me $896 to replace the throwout and slave cylinder assembly. When I drove the car to work after I picked it up yesterday, it started making the same noise, and also there was a new noise whenever I took off, kind of a squeaking coming from the clutch.

Clearly, there is still a problem. Is it something else or is there a chance that they didn't do the work they charged me for?

Any assistance or advice would be appreciated, thanks.

226LXB i think your second problem was taking your Clubsport to HSV for anything other than warranty work. May i suggest one of the performance workshops that sponsor this site?
Sorry, I can't help with your first problem but seeing they have already ripped the lining out of your wallet, I would return to them and ask WTF.

You would think if the gearbox is out to replace the throwout bearing that they would have replaced the whole clutch assembly unless perhaps it isn't that old and they didn't think that was the problem. It's sounding like the gearbox wasn't removed from the car and they have only replaced parts that can be done without gearbox removal. I would say though that for gearbox out and new clutch the bill would have been higher. Considering the problem is still there it sounds like the box needs to come out and if you are doing that it would be sensible to replece the whole clutch setup. So far my VX Clubby is still on the original clutch but I only have about 93,000 Km on it, and I don't drive it in stop start traffic.
