Hi all,

I am wanting another exhaust system, for my LS1. Last system i had was built by Mark at Exhaust Technology (KPM). Quality was fantastic but i sold the whole system about 2months after cos i was going to sell the car. i wasn't really THAT happy with the note it produced.

At the moment i have decided on Pacemaker OR Di Filippo 4>1 1 3/4 Ceramic coated, Ballistics 3" cats. How ever in the cat-back i have a few different options. I am wondering if anyone has any experience with the following cat-back options or any advice!!

This is all twin 3" mild steel piping and Stainless steel mufflers/resinators.

Option 1: X-Pipe with 25mm oxy cut then flowing to twin Di Filippo Centre mufflers flowing to 12" hot-dogs in the rear. (This is what Darren Di Filippo said was the cat-back setup if you wanted it louder than the off the shelf Twin 3" that Di Filippo do)

Option 2: X-Pipe with 25mm oxy cut then flowing to twin Borla 5" Round-15" Long Muffler/Resinators(Part No:40085) in the centre flowing to 12" hot-dogs in the rear.

Option 3: X-Pipe with 25mm oxy cut then flowing to twin 12" hot-dogs in the centre flowing to Borla Muffler's in the rear. Part Number:40943 (to be mounted vertical so it stays twin all the way)

Has anyone had any experience with any of the above options?

Any advice would be appreciated :-)

James.

Hey mate, all I did for an exhaust for my car was order a cat back twin 3 inch X-force exhaust for $550 from best mufflers, sounds good easy fitment and was $350 cheaper than any exhaust joints to make one, I also opted for pacemaker 1.3/4 4 into 1 extractors. Here is video on mine idling, best mufflers are also cheap for the 4 into 1's $700 from memory..

Mate lots of people love to bag out Xforce, but they're good value and if loud and mean is your thing, the Xforce has it in droves. I've got a twin 3" S/S Xforce on my VY Clubsport and think it's great.

I wouldn't be doing anything with hotdogs at the rear. Option 3 would be the best outcome for minimal drone

I've heard several X-Force systems and i didn't really like the note they produced! I guess exhaust notes are so personal!

but you have to consider the entire package. Mods to the cars and what size cats as in cpi placement of cats, extractor size/design, stainless v mild steel.

going twin 3inch choose wisely as it will become loud.

you need to find an exhaust note that you like based on similiar mods. just changing the cats can effect the note.

mine has a nice note but i have to be careful when driving as it is loud and i cant have fun as it can be heard everywhere if i get over 3000 rpm its bad enough on idle
