Hey Guys
Currently have Pacemaker Tri-Y's 2.5" Pacemaker Cats and twin 2.5 Xforce catback
Looking at swapping to 3" ballistic Cats and Twin 3 Xforce catback.
Will the Tri-Y's hold it back too much? its currently Stock motor with OTR and tune but likley to get a cam this year.
Just cant quite justify the upgrade to 4-1's for all of 5rwk.
will the Tri-Y's be that much of a bottlekneck?
Cheers

You answered your own Q.

Is it only 5rwk though? or will it be robbing me of torque etc?
Also if the outlets are only 2.5 on the extractors is there any point swapping to 3" cats or just change the flanges on the cat outlet?

Just a LS1 with Duspeed OTR exhaust and tune.
Will most likely be undergoing a cam change in the next couple of months but wont be anyhting too wild. only around 222/224 112 area.

If you are going with a cam, then 4 n2 1 is better. 1 7/8" is also better than 1 3/4" others will disagree specially if they have 1 3/4" or have neither as they go by hear say.

I know its "better" the question is is it 6-800 dollars better..

The bigger pipes do sound better.....And by going 1 7/8 4 into 1s you wont lose any torque. I use pacie 1 7/8 headers, 100 cell 3 in. venom cats and 3 in. x-force cat back and I like the sound. And by going bigger pipes you have more room to move when you do more mods.

Now that's your choice, how many mods are you going to do & how much extra power do you intend leaving on the table. It all adds up. Power costs $$$$$ how fast do you want to go.

It all comes down to planning for future mods,if you aren't gonna do much more than add a cam then save yourself some $$$. If you think you may add a sc then go 4into1's and 1 and 7/8 headers.

If I was you I would change only the cats, even if you do cam and heads down the road your exhaust will easily cope

Why do u want to go dual 3" when u are too tight to upgrade to some 4>1s.

Waste imo.

Leave it as is or if u want more noise and room to move down the track do it properly

The exhaust you have will do the job, even if you do a cam change it will still work just fine.
If you also do a decent set of heads and a cam your Tri-Y's will then start to hold it back.
4 into 1's and twin 3 inch sounds better in my opinion but I think that would be the greatest gain.
It could cost you a fair bit of cash to change to decent 4 into 1's, bigger cats and twin 3 inch system
and if I were you I would rather spend the money on a diff ratio upgrade where I am sure you would pick up much
more performance gains for your dollar. If you have already done a diff upgrade I would put the money towards a camshaft upgrade.:driving:
