Tried to lock the car door with the remote and found the driver's door wouldn't fully lock.I used the key to finish the process. The same with unlocking use the remote to deactivate the alarm then unlock with the key
Any suggestion's as to the cause and a likely cure please
Thank's- Stephen

It is a VY11 and it only started doing it today with all the wet weather,I will go see the auto electrician on Friday if it keeps happening. Usually the door handle gets stiff after a few days rain and needs some WD40 or CRC

yeah my VT does this when there has been heaps of rain about.
I usually just spray the lock/catch area with some lubricant which seems to do the trick

When I had a vt it did the same thing and it ended up being that actuator thing in the door, it was a easy fix 15mm to install.

Had this happen to the drivers side rear door on my vz ss,I replaced the actuator myself and never had a problem since.
Though I should warn you, holden a going to rip you off on the price of the actuator,so I sourced one from the wreckers for about $25.

Theres an adjustment on the rod that connect the oter handle to the lock. It a little white plastic nut with a threaded rod screwed into it. It can unwind itself over time and cause the lock to bind up. Try loosening it a bit to give it a bit more play may fix the issue.

I went and saw the auto electrician and booked it in for next Friday although a 2nd hand one will be cheaper I will be unlucky enuf to get one that's just about had it and have to do it all again soon.I can claim some off my tax so I think I will go with a new 1
I will try some spray b4 then if it ever stops raining long enough.I had handle problems b4 but never locking, considering how often I get in and out I guess this was always likely to happen, just another expense

The auto electrics boss said they will use genuine,I better ask him can they source from elsewhere and check 1st to see if it an adjustment or lube problem

I better keep an eye on the labour bill if it is only a 15 minute job.I thought it would take that long to get the inner door panel off to access everything
