I had my indicators stop on my way home this morning, just as I entered a roundabout.

I checked the flasher unit and it clicks when my hazards lights are on (so they still work) and I checked the turn signal fuse and its still ok.

So I'm stressing until I find this thread "below" and it says the reverse light fuse would be the culprit. So off to sleep I go dreaming about reverse light fuses, but when I get up today to go and check, I dont have a reverse light fuse at all?

Its an automatic VX Clubsport, Indicators flash when hazards are on but not individually through the stalk.

Can anyone help?

I did post on the original thread in a different section but there isn't as much traffic there and I need to drive the car to work tonight.

And it gets stranger...

I try my car again this arv, and everything is back to normal. No idea why they stopped completely and suddenly came back. I turned my ignition off and on a few times this morning trying to diagnose the problem and nothing changed?

The indicator stalks sh!t themselves after a while. THe copper wears off sticks in the grease eventually allowing it to carry a current.
Usually you would notice the indicators continuing ticking when you turn them off, or your high beams coming on by themselves.

I have successfully dismantled and reassembled one for my VT years ago. Was just a matter of cleaning up all of the now contaminated grease and regreasing.
I recently replaced the one I cleaned with a new one. Cost for the VT version (I think it will be almost the same) is now $114 for a genuine part!
Repco flog knock off versions for around $55.
Easy as piss to swap out.

Could be the faulty relay on the car alarm. Try pulling the auto aerial and hazard fuse (should be on one). If that fixed the indicators that is the issue. There is a detailed thread about it somewhere. Mine is the VZ so not sure on the VX but worth a try
