Hi Guys,

Figured this would be the place to ask.
I'll be wrapping a VE clubsport bonnet tonight, just wondering if it is possible to remove the bonnet nostrils/vents as indicated on the picture below.
Particularly the ones in the centre of the bonnet.

And if so, how?

Thanks jai.

Also, forgot to ask, is the badge held on using double sided tape? or clips?

Thanks jai.

Tape, the front bit can be trickey to get off because of the bonnet latch

As Jai said, tape. Is quite hard to remove, that stuff is sticky!

Heat gun and fishing line sawed behind the badge (carefully) does the trick! :goodjob:

Thanks for the help guys,
For those who want to know the vents are NOT held in with bolts, but rather 2 largish clips on the windscreen side which need considerable force to pop up, once they are up, the rest of the vent slides out toward the windscreen and up.

And for those interested.
The finished result.

How long will that stuff last out in the weather before the heat, water and wind gets under the edges and it starts to lift and bubble and really looks like krap?

3M give the vinyl a 5 year life.
Being on the bonnet it's going to cop the worst of the worst with the heat from the engine and heat from the sun, but it should last as long as they say if not longer as long as it's well looked after.

Heat/water/wind shouldn't cause the edges to bubble or anything of the sort if the wrap is done properly.

Being on the bonnet is the harshest of conditions for a wrap as it has heat from the engine and heat from the sun, but like i said, if it's well looked after, you'll get the most out of it.

Heat/wind/water etc... should not cause the vinyl to bubble and peel up if the install is done properly.

The wrap takes about 2 hours or so

the 3m stuff will last 5-7 years according to the specs. It looks good mate. You managed to lay it in 1 single sheet?

Did you use any adhesion primer or just a nice clean bonnet?

For some reason my reply before didn't show up...

Should last up to 5 years, if taken care of well there is no reason it can't last longer.

About 2 hours give or take...

Single sheet, no extra adhesion required
