I'm looking for anyone that is able to modify the BCM firmware for my 08 WM Caprice. The modification I want to do is to disable the auto headlights. (there used to be a setting for this - why on earth was it removed?) The reason I want to disable it is that there are situations when my engine will be off, but the headlights will be on, which may drain the battery. The situations I have encountered so far are
a) At car washes in low light conditions, the staff will turn the accessories on so that they can listen to the radio. This causes the headlights to come on, and they don't care. I do. It is possible to turn the radio on without turning the ignition on (by pressing and holding the radio ON button), but it's too hard to get them to do this.
b) Mechanics will turn the accessories on (for example, when doing a wheel alignment), and they don't care about the headlights being on. I do.

It's unfortunate that there is no setting, and that there is no "off" position for the rotary switch.

So, if anyone knows of someone that can modify the BCM firmware, please let me know. My dealer can't help me.

Thanks,
Greg.
