Ive recently had an M12 gearbox fitted to the SS, aswell as a rebuilt Tex clutch and a new genuineslave cylinder and new genunie pilot bearing

Few weeks ago the slave cylinder let go after just 1000ks of pretty easy driving to be honest, could this be a case of the MM6 pilot bearing being fitted instead of the M12 gearbox or would the MM6 bearing not allow the input shaft to slide through at all?

Last time this happened to me twice, it was a case of the mechanic not fitting the pilot bearing at all

I have been told losing the clutch fluid is not always a slave cylinder problem, what else could have caused the clutch fluid to drain out?

You need the m12 bearing. The m12 shaft is significantly shorter. Probably not even located in the crank if you still have the mm6 item and may have damaged your gearbox

I actually supplied the M12 bearing and was told by the mechanic it was the wrong one so they just replaced the bearing with the same unit that was already in there

The input shaft is around 1 inch shorter. What you reckon is right.

Thanks for the info Macca. Just a matter of pulling out the gearbox and seeing if it really is a case of the wrong bearing. Going to be pretty pricey to fix after tow trucks, new parts and labour....wish mechanics would get it right the first time!
