The owner delivered the bike to my house last week on Monday night while I was still out on rotation. My fiancee was able to take delivery of the bike on my behalf the wonderful girl she is! Finally got home last Wednesday and got to take the bike for a ride on Thursday morning. Only got a chance to ride it for a solid hour just riding it to friends houses and the Dept of Transport to get the rego transfered over. Such an easy bike to ride! It is a little on the smaller side for me but still very comfortable and is easy to put through the bends. The engine is great. Although I'm well aware its not the quickest bike out it has a lot of pep that makes it fun to ride and reving the little thing out is a hell of a lot of fun especially with it's 15k rev limit! The other great thing is you can do that and still be within legal limits of the law. But the noise is just great haha.
The only big downside, which I was expecting, is the distinct lack of torque. I just didn't realise it would be that gutless when in the wrong gear. I guess thats where the single and two piston bikes have their advantages although they make much less power. For example the hill going into my suburb almost has the bike stalling if I'm not in anything less than 2nd gear. I suppose this will be a good thing to teach me appropriate gear selections for corners and hills hopefully making me a better rider for the future.
Have only been with the bike for an hour and I'm totally in love with it. Can't wait to get home for the weekend and go for a decent ride out. Anybody got any suggestions around the Brisbane southside areas? Nothing too dificult just some good beginner roads.
