Hi Guys,

Just about to buy a bike from a guy in another town and before I pick it up I wanted to make sure it will fit in the maloo. My maloo is a vy and I wanted to know if any of you guys throw bikes in the back and if the sailpane ristricts the room in getting the bike in. let me know what you have found. Thanks a mill

Sailplane is the hard top isn't it? If so that needs to come off, you should be right to fit it in diagonally and the tail gate will shut aswell without hard cover

Yeah it is also the extension from the back of the cab that comes out about 160mm and i didnt want it to obstruct on the wheel. If I have to travel on the highway for 400ks will it be too rough having the tail gate down all the way. The thought of it scares me alot :-(

Shouldnt have any dramas getting it in diagonally, Worst case and you have to put it straight just get a couple of little 'D' shackles and tie the tailgate up halfway, I'll dig up a photo to show what i mean.

Yeah I know I was looking at 250f's but I got this 04 model for 2 grand from a guy I know who just rebuilt it and upgraded. Had to buy it as it was a steal and a few more cc's to haul my ass around is probably a good thing haha

Ktm's are longer than most bikes in their class. I had a 525 and it protruded past a 7 foot trailer just

Do the cops care about the tailgate being down and the rear licence plate not being visible?

Maloos have the flip down number plate anyway so tailgate down shouldnt be an issue

U wont have any problems with putting in diagonally and closing tailgate,
Used to do it with a Ktm 640 all the time
