Has anyone fitted a Proflow or similar air induction pipe in place of the OEM unit.
Do they actually flow better and will I need a retune of my air/fuel mix or will the computer automatically adjust

they look similar to the GTS maffless pipe. Changing from the OEM unit to a GTS pipe, gave me better throttle response and better midrange power (SOTP). no you wont need a tune if you fit one, but to get the most out of it you should. I assume the car has already been tuned from standard?.
IMO unless your going for the 'stock' look I would recommend you put the money towards an OTR as that will be 100 times better again

It will be fine without a tune mate, at least search and do the " mcai 2 hole mod " to make the most of it.
As Toddler also said the OTR will work better but you might want the stock look.
I have both for mine but most of the time I drive around with the factory looking pipe and I have twice been pulled over for "random checking" and both times
the Police have seen a stock looking intake it has saved me.

yeah I have seen the "2 hole mod" b4,bit of mucking around but not impossible even for me once I find some PVC pipe,is it possible just to make a 2nd hole and not fit the pipe.I know the chance of sucking in warm air increases by doing this
