Mixed feelings here.

Anger first because I had a d1ckhead do exactly this in my street and finish up on my front lawn inches from my house.

Satisfaction second. Got exactly what he deserved, And if it was the passengers car...then good to.

My old man always said, good lessons dont come cheap. A good lesson all round here.

Total dickhead, sucked in, hopefully next time you write yourself off.
Doesn't matter if it's in an industrial estate, or not.
The amount of times we've had to spend money to repair our fence from dickheads in our industrial area is ridiculous.

Its a lesson to not let your disrespectful, idiotic, wan.er mates drive your pride and joy that you have put effort into, like sh.t.
The owners mate probably drives a barina with a cannon, scuffed wheels, and a bashed up front bar from "big driveways", not poor driving.

i don't condone any of this and it's a shame but writing the cun t off doesn't do it any justice!

i remember being 16y/o driving around my block withour a licence and hitting a parked car in the wet. I soon learned my capabilities and not to drive like a spastic.

Nope not like that, and been around long enough, just the driving manner clearly shows how much of a dickhead he was, working the steering wheel like he works his ****.

Clearly your also an idiot hitting another car being a dickhead with no license, hope the law raped you for that one.

Yeah I almost wrote off my past commodore hitting a gutter sideways being an idiot about 8 years ago. My assumption before is from what I have personally come across though, not a dig at anyone.

You shouldnt take it so personally mate. What were you expecting? Of course people are going to flame it, you cant expect anyone to have sympathy for that. I am sure people certainly think its a shame what happened though as no one deserves that.

I am sure you got flamed by someone for driving unlicenced around the block? As I did for powersliding and having it snap back on me on my P's. Difference is though it was MY car, not my subsequent ex friends car, I did it where there was no one around, no one to try to impress other than let my oversized ego rip itself to pieces very fast.

I hope the ute was repairable though, it looks like it was a nice beast.

If I could talk to 18 yo me, I would have taken the keys off myself. I had an HX panelvan that I ran squarely into the back of a parked truck just metres from leaving my girlfriend's house. Windscreen frosted up, heading into the rising sun with the truck parked under the shade of a tree. Would have been doing 40kmh and splat. Luckily I didn't bend the thing just mashed the nosecone, rad support, bonnet, guard, inner guard, headlights and grille. Packed the damaged panels into the back and drove home hotrod style. Did the drive of shame past the local high school at morning arrival time, pissing green coolant over my windscreen at the same time....not a good look.
Yes, this guy screwed up,
Yes, it could have been much worse,
No, he doesn't deserve to write himself off; I think he's kicking himself enough after this.
From personal experience, it gave me a wake up call and made me a better driver for it.

I'll agree with you mate. We were all young and stupid once. Most people try to find their own limits young and the only way to find them is to **** up. Granted this kid ****ed up and wrecked some property and his mates car, most of us I would hope don't have to go that far to find our limits. I was lucky in that i grew up driving at circuits. ****ed up plenty of times there. But yes i was still a dick at times on the road too. Just i was lucky not to break anything. Yeah he's a dumb young kent but he will learn from this. He will pay the consequences no doubt. No one was hurt so give him a break or are we all just hypocrites because I can guarantee most of us have been dicks on the road at some point. Situational awearness comes with experience too. Took me a while to learn that lol.

If that was my car, the first thing I’d have done when I got out was walk across the road and buy that camera or phone even if I wasn’t driving.

All I’ll say is lucky in my youth there were no electronic recording devices, we shared and bullshitted our mistakes and or shame in the pub afterwards.

We have all done stupid shit just some don't want to admit it. I nearly plowed a mates Soarer into the bush doing power slides batting way out of my league, after looping it around 3 times at around 100kph an sliding sideways on the grass we slid down a ditch and tore the rear bumper off in a culvert.

Lucky we didn't get friendly with the trees or it could of ended worse than it did. Scarred shit out of us and we learnt from it, was 17 at the time and fair few years ago now would of loved to film that and use it for educational purposes and not to make fun of a mate on YouTube.

Kinda makes me sad to see such a great part of society so consistantly portrayed in such a bad light, car culture bring so much to Australian society. Its a hobby that for the most part doesn't descriminate against age, race, or religion, car show and motorsport events have probably the widest cross section of the community of any social events held, except for a few over hyped incidents and generally moronic acts by a few, the Bob Jane incident comes to mind, most of our gatherings are non violent, well run with proper consideration for the community and environment, many car clubs and shows have significant ties with charities. Add to this the financial benfits the aftermarket industry has to our economy, not to mention the great things some of our local guys are doing on the world stage like CHI and ICE ignitions involvment the engine masters, EFI Live and HPT both have roots in Australia and many other locals exporting products and technology globally, we have some of the best engineering minds in this county tied up with our hobby, yet despite the all the great things we contribute to the community/economy/cuture of Austraila we are seen in the media as nothing more than death machine driving hoons that need to be eradicated from the roads, doesn't make me angry, just sad.
