Hi
I have a 402ci stroker bulit about 30,000kms ago. A few weeks ago, I had a set of aeroforce gauges fitted. One was displaying oilr pressure. I noticed then at idle, it read about 30 (not sure what units) and went to about 50 under acceleration. Today I was driving down the M1 and the oil pressure was showing 120 and oil temp 61 degrees. Coolant temp 86 degrees. Thought the oil temp was low.wtf??? Unplugged the gauges and replugged - same reading. On the way home, Oil Pressure still 120 and coolant temp 100. Any ideas?

Last sentence should have read Oil Pressure still 120 and oil temp 100; coolant temp 86

Here is some more info. When the motor is not running, the gauge reads about 70.

Faulty oil pressure sensor maybe ?? Get it on a scanner and see what it is reading :)

Good idea. I have a scanner. I'll run it in the morning.

scanner will probably read the same thing, its getting it from the same place.
need a mechanical one to check it.
maybe needs a new oil pressure sender.

Agree totally. I would be putting a manual gauge on it to double check the real oil pressure

I have read elsewhere on here that the oil pressure sender on these is prone to failure so assuming they're not ridiculously expensive maybe just buy and fit one?

Thanks Gary. I'll take it in for a check up.
