Does anyone know where I could find some piccies from the 27th Aug EC street meet? There was quite a few photographers there and I think they got some good ones of my car. Its still as stock as a rock, finally managed to give her a run and got a 14.7 ET.

If anyone has any contacts for any of the photographers could you let me know? Thanks...

It was absolutely packed with entrants. They reached 200 entrants by 6pm. Not bad considering the first race was just after 5pm. I don't know if it's usually that busy, never been en entrant before. There hasn't been a street meet for at least a month & Supernats is coming up in Sept. This might be a factor for it being busy.
As mentioned above, this was my first time racing down at The Creek. Needless to say that I have spent many years freezing my butt off on the hill.
On my first run, I was so nervous that I forgot to turn off traction control on my burnout. What a d#*khead! With standard & cold VX SS street tyres, she skated down the track a bit. Not very much heat in dem Bridgestones. My ET was 13.909 at 105.12mph with a 2.408 60ft. I was quite pleased seeing that it was first ever run. I was kicking myself for not switching off T/C on the burnout though. But what a rush though!
I won't mention my other runs as they got worse and worse. Might have to invest in one of Sam's street clutches.
You gotta feel sorry for Beej though. He made the hike from Crows Nest only to get turn away at the last minute. As soon as they reached 200 competitors, I gave him the bad news. Apparently he was just near the back gate. Bummer. Better luck next time!!
UNTAMD how did you go?
Guys, any tips on improving my 60ft times other than more practice?

 Will

I didnt go very well either, first time i have driven anything like this so it felt completely different for me, first run i ran 14.4, it was spinning off the mark, second run i tried taking off a little difffrent but it dogged it a little and ran 14.5 and 3rd run i ran 14.4 with a little spinning all these with 2.3-2.4 60ft's, nothing compared to my other car i have done a 1.22 60ft it felt like i was in neutral, i might have to invest in some ratios by the next street meet.

Thanks vt2vx. I know there's a bit more in it. Just need more practice. I ran the car as if I were driving normally i.e. Spare wheel, jack, full tank of fuel, and of course, Commodore magazines.
I'll definately put the SS on a Jenny Craig diet next time. It needs to shed a few kilos. Come to think of it, so do I. Maybe if I wasn't in the car, and drove it remotely like Ralph & Montoya on that Compaq ad, I'll do a quicker quarter.
Veasna, definately get the different ratios. I run 3.9s in mine and it definately makes a difference.
I didn't spot the regulars :Al, Craig or Pete down there last night. Did any of you guys have a run? I was stuck lining up in the pits for most of the night so I might of missed your runs.

Hey thanks for the words Will - I was not real happy I can tell you! I've been out there heaps of times before (not in the SS though) and never missed out before ;-) I even rang them before I left and asked if it was still worth coming out and they saud "sure! It never fills up!". Grrrrrrrrr.

Will have to head out next time as I am quite keen to see what i can get out of my car! 13.9 is a good time for your first run though - you should be happy with that ;-)

Next time!

Cheers,

Beej

the main reason it filled up to the full 200 is most competitors were getting ready for supernats in a few weeks... alot of Pac performance cars there getting setups ready to run there best...
