Hello a mate Had ay ss with the Fe 2 suspension and had to fit pumpups to his ride so his 20's wouldn't rub when he towed his car trailer to the drags with his torrie on board, He soon found he was damaging, bending the attachment points real bad, so he sacked them and never towed with it again. .
Well I have a similar problem,

would anyone here had any experience with the Air bag setup, like what brands are any good, any setbacks with them, and finally what do they cost. oh and anyone want to sell a set??

Cheers Tonner.

airbag sits inside the rear springs so id imagine they'd be better, just some poly air bags from Pedders, which then aid as drag bags for if you race maybe

I'd go with the TSS drop in bags.
About $700 and they replace your rear springs. Use an air compressor to change the height whenever you want

So do they actually take the place of the springs?? not just go inside like the ones Ive seen of late..

They can take the place of the springs, but if you are going to tow they should be used as a helper, the reason people run into problems is they put to much pressure in the bags and there is no flex when they hit bumps, so they ended breaking the back of the car. When I was looking at bagging the X8 I only went a extra leaf due to cost at the time and the people I spoke to all advised that it is not the air bags that are the problem but the pressure that is put in them.

Not speaking from experience just what I was told from a number of people. Hope it helps.

if you just want to tow and use the airbags to assist your rear suspension then you are better off getting an "air assist" setup rather than drop in bags for the rear. there are many different setups you can choose from, just depends on your application. go to http://www.airide.com.au/ or pop in and see Glenn and he will look after you.

what are the disadvantages using airbags for street / strip?

what about the weight of tank and compresser?

again, depends on your application, wheel tyre size etc. i have found with my fbss setup that the ride is terrible on my 20' wheels with any more than 40% travel in the shocks. dont know about the stip as i havent tried mine out there yet, but i hear that used correctly and setup right that bags can aid at the strip. tank and compresser weight will depend on size and that will depend on how much air you need/want and how fast you want the tank to fill. my setup is about 20-30kg approx.

You don't have to have a tank and compressor . You can just get the drop In bags run some air lines and fill at servo or with electric tyre pump . Saves extra weight if this is a concern for the strip

Any Idea who does the bags that just fit inside of the springs? not looking for the ones with the compresser in the boot or what ever, I can pump them up at the servo.
Cheers.

As per the second post, Pedders do poly air bags which sit inside the spring.

Stock height, but tyres rub when you gun it or too fast overt speed bumps, really should change the rims to a different offset or roll the guards, but this will do for now.

Stock Height but the offset of the 20" rims is ,.all wrong
btw about 370 Hub cr to guard only Exel Kyb shockers.
Huh, the Airbag man turned out to just live up the road from me here on the Island so he dropped in a setat the Mates Workshop on his way to work at Brendale this morning went with his CoilriteAir Bags $383.00 Fitted, so far no more rubbing at 10 psi but going in for to have the guards rolled and aq debadging next Wednesday.
