Engine Number

Hey guys,

I have just scored myself a 1987 5.0lt vl station wagon. through everything to make sure it is legit. Engine number, that i can make out is J574353. Can anyone let me know if that is original engine for my car?

you sure there is not anything in front of the 'J' ? ... as all Holden V8s use a 2 alpha prefix
I suggest there should be a V in front of the J

and as confirmation, can you get the casting date..
its on the pad above the timing case cover...will be like K58 or similar
