Who still has the standard clutch in there ss? How many kms on it and what mods?
My vx ss has 170 000km on it but only has a cat back at the moment but thinking a tune and Otr, the clutch is not slipping but the only thing when I'm trying to take off slow I get a bit of shudder!
Would that be a problem when I go for a tune?

Vx SS stock except 2 hole mod and cat back, standard clutch and done 150,000km, it slips when I do a high rpm launch but apart from that it's fine, I know mines on its way out and many people on here an JC recommend a texarilla (sic) as a good street-able clutch

mine was still fine at 90,000 when i had to put in a better clutch to cope with the new supercharger.

My VY One tonner still has the stock clutch , it looked fine when i had the engine out to put the cam and other bits in but it only had 57,000 km on it (from memory) and only has about 58,000 km on it now.
I don't give the car a hard time , the hardest work it's done probably when i helped a frend move house and had it loaded towing a traler.
It gave the odd shudder from new.
I have somewhat of a lack of tallent driving modded cars (just ask Tre-cool) but i had no trouble driving a frends NPC equiped L98 VZ.
It has a fairly angry sounding cam , made 400 odd rwhp and was tuned by SQP.

What causes shudder at slow take offs? And I was talking to a sponser about clutches and they recommend an xtreme single carbon/Kevlar plate clutch for 1950 installed!
But I thought if its not slipping the just get the tune done and worry but the clutch later!

My first clutch for my Monaro (CV8 V2S1) was good for 260,000kms. Had exhaust/extractors done at around 100,000kms mark, Edit + 2 hole Mod at around 160,000kms and a 222-224 Cam at 250,000kms. When PowerTorque put the cam in, on the dyno they said the clutch was slipping already so it was on the way out then. I'm nearly up to 350,000kms and the second clutch is OK but I think the slave needs a bleed/fluid change as the take up point is getting a bit high.

Cheers, Matthew

150k, it's gets a hard pedal when I have a decent squirt. Comes back to normal within 30s so I believe it's slipping a bit when driving like a tosser. Been doing it for over a year now and hasn't got any worse.

I have just over 92,000 Km, I assume it's original, I got the car 6 years ago with 68,000Km so I don't know if it may have been replaced before I bought it. If the standard clutches are lasting over 100,000 Km, and LS7 clutch is the standard from Holden now, why not replace with standard, from previous threads I think the standard Holden LS7 clutch is cheaper than aftermarket,
