just looked at the site, hes got a manual one for 90, nothing displayed for auto
90 seems pretty steep for a piece of leather about a5 size

Yeah, his stuff is quite good but not cheap, can't you buy new from Holden?

I picked up a new one for the Monaro from my local Holden dealer for around the $30- mark from memory. Just the boot only... Still haven't got around to installing it (packed away for when the original one is looking really bad)

I'm sure I've got one in the garage you can have. Though finding it might be a struggle. Give me till Wednesday afternoon
I bought mine off a guy on eBay. $90 or so.

It's better to check out the obvious option first, rather than assuming the genuine option is always the dearest and simply bypassing it. Many wreckers in particular have become quite rich from the word "assume"...

$85 for boot only, wreckers get rich whilst holden goes backwards. picked up a vz 6 speed gear knob including surround and much larger leather boot from a spares place NEW when i had the monaro for around $90
was quoted around $160 a while back for 2x "260" badges, yup, 2 crappy small plastic badges. bit off topic but speaks to trends of holden/hsv spare parts.

Like I said, one shouldn't assume...we take many calls every month from people that have rung wreckers and/or non genuine sources, and people are quite surprised dealers are the cheaper option. HSV is not "Holden", so let's remove that comparison from the discussion hey. ;)
It takes only one phone call and a couple of minutes to either confirm or deny who is the cheapest, so always worth doing. One needs to factor in other variables though. New or used, genuine or copy, how much warranty etc.
In regards to those shifter boots and knobs, they are the classic pin-up boy example of a cheap USED part, as they flooded the market removed from HSV conversions, making the price low. No two year warranty though- now being a secondhand part, whereas new genuine comes with a 2 year/50,000km warranty.
I saw many of those "new" shifters you speak of in my life. Half of them came with "free" scratches or rub marks on the gear knob silver trim, and broken clips on the boot retainer...:hide:
